Er is de laatste 2 dagen weer veel onrust ontstaan over SecuRom, voornamelijk door een actie van de anti-SecuRom lobby op Amazon (zie dit bericht).
EA heeft gereageerd zoals ik zelf al verwachtte: het handhaafd gewoon de SecuRom maar op een nieuwe game (Red Alert 3) wordt SecuRom wel iets versoepeld, namelijk 5 maal opnieuw te installeren in plaats van 3 keer voor Spore. Op deze pagina van 1UP wat meer informatie.

Executive producer (Red Alert 3) Chris Corry:
"I think it would be a shame if people decided to not play a great game simply because it came with DRM, but I understand that this is a very personal decision for many of you and I respect that," he wrote. "As you might imagine, I'm a lot less respectful of those people who take the position that they will illegally download a game simply because it has DRM."
